Central Campus Headquarters Replacement Office Building and Data Center

Transition to a multi-user 21st century spaceport.

Delivered in two phases, NASA’s new seven-story headquarters building at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL, will provide flexible open and private office areas, conference rooms, multi-purpose work rooms, an engineering documentation center, high-density storage library, legal and leadership headquarters, and retail and service amenities. AEI worked with NASA staff to fully integrate the facility with the Kennedy Complex Controls System for comprehensive facilities monitoring.

NASA Headquarters MEP Revit Model

MEP systems for the headquarters building are stacked in the core of the building to facilitate vertical distribution, while N+1 redundancy for chilled water converters and pumps accommodated the second phase of the project after the first phase became operational. With chilled beams, condensing boilers, enthalpy-based energy recovery, outdoor air monitoring, thermal comfort controls, day-lighting controls, controllable lighting systems, measurement and verification, and green power, the project is targeting LEED Gold certification.
