AEI San Francisco Participates in UC Davis Special Webinar
AEI is pleased to announce Pius Kao, dedicated leader and project manager within our San Francisco office, will be presenting a special webinar hosted by the UC Davis Global Energy Managers.
Participating alongside fellow energy and utility industry peers, this engaging webinar — The Big Shift: Lessons Learned in Converting UC Davis Buildings from Steam to Hot Water — discusses the transformative infrastructural changes currently taking place on UC Davis campus and lessons learned from this project to date, including critical utility design considerations and the importance of stakeholder coordination.
This virtual event will be taking place on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 11:00am PST. Interested in attending?
Hutchison Quad Hot Water Conversion Distribution Improvements
Reflecting system-wide sustainability efforts as outlined in the University of California Carbon Neutrality Initiative, UC Davis Hutchison Quad’s ongoing utility improvements — shaped by the concepts identified in AEI’s previous master utility planning effort for the main campus’ district energy system — will help the institution achieve its goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2025.
Comprised of over 100 buildings across 5,300 acres over multiple project phases, this pivotal utility project will convert existing facility heating systems powered by steam, or heat generated by natural gas, to a hot water distribution system generated by electricity. Once complete, the system-wide conversion will save approximately $523 million in energy costs over a 60-year period.
